Our History

In 1928 twenty Shelby County farmers founded what is still known today as SHELBY COUNTY CO-OP. They established our co-op to help build their buying power for their businesses. During this time our co-op served only farmers. Today, we are owned by over 600 farmers and our customers do not have to be farmers to experience the unrivaled service that our co-op is known for. In fact, our total residential and commercial business comes from over 60 counties in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

Our Crops Department in Indiana initially only sold bagged fertilizers. But over the years, we began offering bulk and liquid fertilizers, chemicals, anhydrous, and more.

We always aim for our customer’s satisfaction, ensuring our services are conveniently available. Place your order, pay your bills and view your account statements through your account.

Research by the US Department of Energy shows that electricity is 2.5 times costlier than propane on average, so it makes perfect sense to use propane gas to heat your home. Propane is also widely used on farms.

Our petroleum department’s certified technicians and drivers are available to help you with your fuel needs. We offer lubricants, bulk oil delivery, CountryMark fuels, tankwagon deliveries, transport deliveries and more.
